New Zealand Birth Source Documents

Question:  I had problems acquiring our Birth Source document. Is there support for people who meet this roadblock. It seems to be age related. The older you are the harder they make it saying they were destroyed but we know they have them copied digitally. It's essential to their robbery of our entitlements so why would they "destroy"?

The New Zealand Birth source document is the endowment policy reference to your inheritance, hence "source".  The agency finds all sorts of reasons not to give this to you. Apart from heading to Wellington Archives to go find it there, the next best option is to ask at the counter of Department of Internal Affairs. You will be asking for your Birth Source Document folio number. Only certain offices will do this. Manukau City will provide this information.

The agency will fob you off. Ask for the folio number that appears on their computer screen.  They will then give this to you and record it on a post it note! Currently this seems to be their protocol.

Next - Take the note and download this

statutory declaration form

Complete the form by declaring and entering your folio number details on this. You can upload the statutory declaration in the registration form.

If you have problems show them that others have received this information from them.
